“Please make plans to join me and these other expert panelists for an in-depth discussion on gun safety and gun violence. If you don’t participate in any other webinar this year, I encourage you to attend this one. This issue touches the lives of virtually every American in some way.”
Coach Tubby Smith - NCAA National Champion and three-time National Coach of the Year
Almost every team in college basketball has been touched by gun violence.
Play Smart is an advocacy organization comprised of coaches, players, politicians, non-profit organizations, and businesses, focused on ending gun violence. It is our mission to educate, engage, and change the ways guns are stored in homes. We offer resources to help coaches, players, alumni, and all those who care prevent gun tragedies and heal teams and communities in the aftermath of loss.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Secure storage will save lives
“Play Smart is an important organization ... because of their advocacy for secure gun storage and their leadership in helping coaches confront the impact of gun violence on their team and the broader collegiate community. The more coaches who engage, the greater the impact.”
Craig Robinson, Executive Director
National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC)
“We know how busy you are as coaches and mentors. Our effort is low friction — join to learn, for resources, for whatever you need.”
Howard Levy, Co-founder
Play Smart, Save Lives, Princeton player and coach.
“The Houston basketball community has been touched by gun violence as have so many other teams across the nation. We teach kids to communicate on the court. Now it’s time for all of us to communicate a simple message: store your gun safely. It will save lives.”
